Mystery Cookies

There's something kind of fun about going through someone else's recipe scrap stash ... and finding one of my own!

This is a no-bake cookie recipe I got from a Home Economics class in high school.
As you can tell, it was a well used recipe! I used to make these wonderful cookies several times a year. Once I didn't boil the mixture long enough, and the cookies never did harden ... but they still tasted divine (eaten with a spoon!).

My doctor says I can't have these kinds of goodies anymore. Sigh -
But I still have the memory of how good they were!!!

Another Pumpkin Recipe - This Time Libby's "Famous" Pie

This is another pumpkin recipe I found in mom's clipping drawer.
It was printed on a can label.
Mmmmmm, I'm gonna need to make some pumpkin pie with all of these wonderful recipes!!!

Lady Baltimore Cake

I was caught by the title of this found recipe - "Lady Baltimore Cake" - but mostly I was intrigued by the writing. Someone put a lot of time into transcribing this recipe - to make it tiny enough to just fit onto the page.

Smoked Pork with Kraut

The only thing that appeals to me in this recipe ...
Is the apple.

It's still an interesting recipe, found in a box of hand written recipe cards a long time ago.

Carob Zucchini Cake

This is another found recipe that looks to be far more healthy than the average dessert cake!

This is definitely one I want to try in the near future!

Better For My HEART Cake???

I found this interesting recipe clipping tucked between the pages of an old cookbook.
The picture itself was rather off-putting to me ...
Cakes, with their sugar, butter, processed flours ... are so way off limits for me and my HEART!

Then I started reading the ingredients for this cake.
Whole wheat flour ... wheat bran cereal ... very little sugar ...

My sweet tooth may have the final say on this one ...
And maybe my heart will thank me???

If I do try this recipe, I will let you know if it really is as good as it sounds!
Without the maraschino cherries, though. I hate those things. I have a jar of regular canned cherries somewhere, don't I????
